If you have the time why not make your very own homemade protein bars. At least you’ll know exactly what goes into them.

There are several advantages of homemade protein bars compared to buying them at a store or online.

First of all, you know exactly what ingredients go into the recipe. No surprises of any hidden fats or trans fats.

You can also tailor your recipe to the level of protein you need, depending on what training and workouts you are doing.

It is much cheaper to make your own protein bars compared to store prices.

The only downside I can see from producing your own protein snacks is the time and effort needed to make them.

I personally used to make my own protein bars and they went down a treat! But after a while it became far too time consuming and I ended up buying them online.

If you have the time or just want to experiment a little by making your own protein bars, there are tons of free recipes online you can use. Just type in homemade protein bars into Google and you’ll have more recipes than you know what to do with!

Pure Protein Powder

Pure protein comes in many forms but powder protein is probably the most commonly consumed. These days it tastes so much better too!

For people who need to increase their muscle mass they need to be consuming approximately one gram of protein per pound of bodyweight. This isn’t as easy to do as you think even though lots of healthy foods contain protein. Basically you need to be taking twice the normal amount of protein needed for a sedentary person.

Protein in the form of pure protein powder is an ideal supplement to a healthy diet for anyone needing to build muscle or if training extremely hard. Athletes and bodybuilders need this extra protein to compensate for the extra demand they place on their bodies and muscles.

Protein is most effective immediately after exercising, and as a meal supplement. Also, taking pure protein just before you go to bed helps prevent the protein breakdown that naturally occurs when you sleep.

Pure protein powder is virtually tasteless and not particularly easy to consume. One way to make it easier is to add it to foods, drinks and bars, such as pure protein bars and health bars.

Something that I’ve found works great for getting your daily protein powder is adding it to yogurt. Simply blend well, until the protein powder is completely dissolved and it makes a great tasting meal.

Although pure protein powder sounds like the best type of protein to take, protein powder that has been added to shakes and meals is just the same but made easier to consume.

Most manufacturers supply protein powder that contains the right balance of protein, carbs and fat. You can choose products that are much higher in protein or have more carbs. It all depends on what your training goals are. If you want to build muscle then you should look for a combination of high protein, high calorie powder that is relatively low in sugar and fat.

If you are trying to lose fat, you will most likely want a low carb, low calorie protein. The extra protein will help you keep your current muscle mass. If you are simply trying to find a good meal replacement, a protein powder with medium carbs and medium calories would most likely be for you.

Pure protein powder should really be taken by anyone who has a good understanding of why they need to take it and with which other food source they are taking it with. Most of the time protein is most effectively consumed when combined with the right amount of carbs, fat and sugar.

There are plenty of good, reliable, online stores that stock a wide range of protein powder products, including pure protein, if that’s what you really want.

Pure Protein Shakes

Everyone loves shakes, and if you’re going to drink a high protein shake, you should choose a pure protein one.

Protein is essential for lean muscle growth, maintaining muscle mass, raising metabolic rates and overall health. Pure protein shakes are an easy way to supplement your daily protein intake.

The average person living a healthy lifestyle should be able to consume more than enough protein in their diet if it contains foods such as meat, fish, dairy products, fruit and nuts. But if you are training to increase your muscle mass, you need to consume at least twice the amount of protein. It is also recommended you consume this protein over 6 or 7 smaller meals throughout the day.

Unfortunately, due to the lifestyles we lead, it is not realistic or practical to be at home creating all these healthy, high protein foods. Not so bad if you have your own personal trainer and chef! But for the rest of us, the only way to get this extra protein, spread throughout the day is to take some form of supplement such as pure protein shakes and/or pure protein bars.

Protein shakes are perfect for people who workout and then need to get back to work or whatever else during the day. They are convenient, portable and contain around 35 grams of muscle building protein.

Pure protein shakes aren’t only great for muscle growth; they are also good for anyone needing a meal replacement as part of a healthy living diet. I know people who have undergone gastric bypass surgery and need to consume protein and very little else, especially during the first few weeks. Pure protein shakes are just what they need as they contain very little else other than protein.

There are many companies online where you can source your pure protein shakes from. More often than not, you’ll be able to find them cheaper than in stores due to the lower overheads online stores have.

One of the leading manufacturers of pure protein shakes is World Wide Sports and you will find many online retailers offering their products, including pure protein shakes.

Low Carb Protein Bar

If you’re monitoring how much carbohydrates you are consuming, then a high protein, low carb bar is a great snack.

For those of us who love to workout but also live a regular (often hectic) lifestyle, it usually means you don’t have time to prepare 6 meals a day, let alone 6 nutritiously balanced meals! That’s where a low carb protein bar can make all the difference to your body’s needs.

You probably already know that in theory you could probably consume enough protein, if you’re working out every other day, by eating a ‘normal’ healthy diet. However, in practice, we all know that this rarely happens as there just aren’t enough hours in the day.

If you want to gain muscle mass and are lifting weights or doing resistance training, you need to consume twice the levels of protein a sedentary person needs, in order to grow your muscles. You also need to ensure you don’t consume too many carbohydrates as this will bloat you out and make you feel sluggish.

Fortunately there is now a wide range of low carb protein bars on the market to choose from. Not only are they a great source of protein, many of them contain the ideal balance of protein, carbs and fat. They also contain vital nutrients and vitamins which make them an ideal meal supplement after a workout to enhance recovery and recuperation and enhance carbohydrate storage (glycogen) in muscle tissue.

A low carb protein bar is not just for athletes and weight lifters. This type of food supplement is ideal for anyone who wants to live a healthy lifestyle. It is far more beneficial to eat a protein bar low in carbohydrates, than it is to snack on a candy bar full of saturated fats and sugars.

The popular Atkins diet advocates high protein and low carbs and combined with a balanced, healthy diet of fruit and veg is a great method for losing unwanted pounds.

The internet is now the best place to buy your low carb protein bar because you can easily choose which type of bar is best suited to your lifestyle and training needs. Manufacturers have become very sophisticated in producing exacting levels of protein versus carbs bars, depending on its intended use. So read the guidelines and ingredients carefully before making your purchase.

One of the most convenient and effective methods of consuming pure protein is to eat a protein bar. They taste great too!

Welcome to PureProteinBars.net. We aim to provide help, information and resources, specifically geared towards pure protein bars.

There is actually no such thing as a ‘pure’ protein bar, as there needs to be other ingredients to hold the whole thing together. However, some bars certainly contain more protein in them than others and have other necessary, healthy components for active individuals.

On average a standard protein bar will contain between 10 and 30 grams of protein. Some bars may contain up to 40 grams, but then the size of the bar will be greatly increased.

Not everyone needs or should be eating protein bars. It has been found that a balanced, healthy diet can supply almost twice as much protein than is actually necessary. This extra dose of protein, found in a handy bar is really intended for athletes, weight lifters and anyone wanting to increase their body mass.

There are other ingredients found in some protein bars that can easily cause people to gain unwanted weight, such as carbohydrates, unhealthy trans fats and sugar or high-fructose corn syrup. Not all protein bars are created equal but one that is high in protein and calories and a moderate amount of carbohydrates is the best choice for building muscle mass.

I certainly wouldn’t recommend substituting a balanced diet for a couple of protein bars. Not only will you miss out on lots of vital vitamins and nutrients, you’ll also pile on the pounds. That being said however, a protein bar or any type of health/energy bar is far more nutritious and beneficial than a candy or pastry snack.

Pure Protein Bars To Build Pure Muscle

This is really the reason why you should be eating protein bars. Your muscles are primarily built from protein. To increase your muscle mass, you need to follow a strict weight lifting routine and supplement your diet with a balance of extra protein and carbohydrates.

To see those muscle gains you should be consuming twice as much protein as a sedentary adult. That means about 8 grams of protein per pound of body weight.

There are many ways to take in the extra protein your muscles need to grow. Vegetables, grains, beans, meat, fish, poultry and dairy products all contain high levels of protein. The problem often lies with our busy lifestyles and not having the time to prepare targeted, high protein meals.

That’s why pure protein bars are so effective and easy to consume. You simply finish your workout, grab yourself one of your favorite protein bars and away you go, safe in the knowledge you’re muscles are getting the hit they need.

How Protein Bars Works

After each strength training session, eat a protein bar as soon as possible. During your work-out, your body uses water, glycogen (carbohydrates), and nutrients from the muscles for fuel. The muscles stretch and even tear as you use them to lift weights or use them against any resistance. If you eat a protein bar straight after a workout, the shot of protein will help the muscles recuperate and allow the carbohydrates to be stored in the tissue of the muscles. As protein heals and builds upon the muscles that got torn and worn during a workout, the muscle increases in size.

The internet provides dozens of trusted retailers that you can easily order pure protein bars from. The manufacturers may come in different names, but essentially protein is protein no matter where it comes from.

If you have tried any protein bars yourself or would like to share anything else with us, please drop your comments below.

Thanks,
